- Semiconductor focus.
- Applicable to any discrete process in manufacturing or business.

ManSim products were designed specifically to meet the stringent requirements of semiconductor manufacturing, wafer sort, assembly, and testing. ManSim products have also been applied to other industries (printed circuit boards, fabless, cardboard packaging, machine shop, etc.) and can be used to model white-collar processes.

- ManSim’s products are based on simulation models.

ManSim Products are Dynamic, Discrete Event Simulation Planning Tools with the
Capability for Stochastic and Deterministic variables.

Static Models overestimate capacity and understate cycle times which can
lead to shortages of equipment, high inventories and late shipments.

Static models are inadequate to model the coordinated use of multiple resources

- During the life cycle of a production facility

The normal life cycle of a production facility is the domain of ManSim products. This includes initial design of the facility, facility ramp up, daily scheduling, weekly/monthly order management, and needed manufacturing improvements in the production facility’s operation so it can stay competitive or lead in its market sector.

Each product uses the same simulation engine allowing models and their associated variables to be shared between the capacity, scheduling, and simulation products.

use ManSim Simulation Products?
ManSim Simulation Products meet these goals

Why - A need to understand the constraints in manufacturing processes.
How - Discrete event simulation clearly shows the ebb and flow of product queues and equipment activity over time with sensitivity to product mix and volume variations. It will also show the skill mix and quantity of personnel needed to support the product mix and volume variations.

Why - A need to meet order delivery dates at or near 100% Serviceability
How - The ManSim Order Mapper interacts with the Simulation Engine, using the factory state, forecasts, and orders, and iterates to optimize product start schedules to meet committed delivery dates.

Why - A need to reduce cycle time

How – Variations in factory processes and the level of utilization significantly affect cycle time. ManSim products can easily model the variation of the above variables using stochastic and actual values.

Why - A need to understand operational costs, compute revenue, and determine profit
How – Part costs are impacted by operator costs, machine operation costs, and consumables needed. ManSim tracks part costs by operation, and can calculate profit based on revenue gained through completed parts. ManSim simulations will also quantify the external equipment (jigs, fixtures, load boards, burn-in boards, etc.) requirements needed for uninterrupted production at each operation.
